The integration of technology in classrooms, at first began to scare me. I grew up in the time when technology was on the rise. I really liked the video that I picked because it was based in an inner city school with younger children. As technology speeds up, kids are learning things that when I was younger we would learn as an elective in High school. Video design and creating your own stories through technology/media gives kids the opportunity to express themselves interactively while learning all at the same time and the bigger piece is that they enjoy it. Jalen the student from the video stuck out to me when he said, “DYN is one of the awesomest sickest programs ever.” It made me feel the reward of being in this class (3010) to become a better teacher. While also opening my eyes to the types of things kids already know how to do like designing video games and the gender separation which never crossed my mind. Technology Integration is extremely important. In order for a student to stay in tune with the work given in the classroom, we must cater to their environments. I noticed that students are a lot more interactive today then when I was younger and that is not at all a bad thing. This is why we must embrace their will to be interactive with each other and create things like blogs and use movie clips (which I would access online through YouTube) and connect them to the book would be reading at the moment to show the differences between Hollywood and the Literature World.
